Epic Games has confirmed it's currently not working on a new title set in the Unreal Tournament universe.
Speaking at this week's GDC (via CVG), studio founder Tim Sweeny explained that while we should expect some new game announcements soon, an entry in the long-running franchise won't be among them.

“We’re not [planning on] shipping an Unreal Tournament game," he announced. "We have a lot of nostalgia for the game but we’re actually not developing anything in the Unreal game universe at all at the moment.
“We’ve announced Fortnite… That’s a game we’ll be talking about later. We don’t have anything to show you here at GDC. We’re developing that project and there are several other projects that aren’t announced yet that are being developed with Unreal Engine 4.”
Also at the conference, the company has confirmed it's working on a new franchise but refuted claims it's linked to 2011's 'Samaritan' tech demo, and also announced Unreal Engine 4 will be available to absolutely anyone for a $19 subscription each month.
