Subject: Tournament Crosshair Development (v.6.04 aka Kore1)
To: All
Date: 5/14/04

Thanks to the widely open policy of The Tournament Commitee,
K-Aus Weapon Systems Inc. has developed sets of Crosshairs intended
for use within The Tournament arenas

Many of the crosshairs are extremely well suited for use in the arena. While some are purely for artistic value.
Even though all crosshairs can be easily adapted to all weapons of The Tournament, some are particularly suited for certain weapons.
The attached fileinfo will direct the user in how to incorperate the crosshair into their weapon inventory
Note: Even though the crosshairs are compatible with all weapons, not all weapons can be easily set to use the crosshairs.
 It is up to the weapon designer to insure compatibility.

To use the crosshairs, please direct your attention to Section 1a, as it contains the Installation instructions

T Rypkema has attached the following document:

//_1.a. Installation

The following files go into your UT2004\System directory
 -- KAusXhair.U
 -- KAusXhair.Int
 -- KAusXhair.Ucl

The following files go into your UT2004\Textures directory
 -- Kws_Xc.Utx

!! "XH_List.gif" Contains a visual listing of some of the crosshairs contained in the Utx !!

//_1.b. Usage/Operation

 > Step1: Start up UT2004
 > Step2: Navigate to "Settings"
 > Step3: Click the "Weapons" tab
 > Step4: Click the "Use Custom Weapon Crosshairs" checkbox
 > Step5: Select the weapon you wish to use a custom crosshair on
 > Step6: Click on the "Crosshair" drop-down list and scroll thru the list until you see one you wish to use and then click on it
 > Step7: Using the preview window for reference, adjust the Color/Opacity/Scale settings to your desire
 -- (Scale must be set to 2 for the crosshair to be normal size)
 > Step8: Go frag someone back to the stone age

Note: You can also select a custom crosshair to be used as your default crosshair.
 This is done by unchecking the "Use Custom Weapon Crosshairs" checkbox and repeating Steps 6 & 7
 (check the box again to continue using custom crosshairs for individual weapons)

========
|| It is recommended that the following crosshairs be scaled down to be effective
 (they seem to work better with a larger crosshair scaled down as opposed to a small crosshair scaled up)

 bX
 Dot Large
 Dot Reverse
 Halo
 Lohkee
 Nuq
 Thorn
 Wing
 ZeroWing
 Zyros

//2. Advanced Controls (Note: Set commands may or may not work while playing online
Keybinds and Ingame Commands:
These can be used to change nearly every aspect of the custom crosshairs while fragging away
***Warning: These are recommended for advanced users who have a fair working knowledge of Ini settings. Do not use if you do not feel comfortable doing such***

//To change the Color and Opacity(how "solid" the crosshair is)
- set xweapons.WeaponName customCrossHairColor (B=255,G=255,R=255,A=255)
B = Blue Color Range  (0=no Blue, 255=max Blue)
R = Red Color Range  (0=no Red, 255=max Red)
G = Green Color Range  (0=no Green, 255=max Green)
A = Level of Opacity (0=Barely or Invisible, 255=Most "Solid" Nothing will show thru the crosshair at A=255)

//To change the scale(how large/small the crosshair is)
- set xweapons.WeaponName customCrossHairScale Number
Number = Anything above 0.00. 1.00 is recommended for most of the crosshairs(Or 2.0 for UT2004)

//To change the crosshair used
- set xweapons.WeaponName customCrossHairTextureName KWS_XC.TextureName
TextureName = Anything in the aforementioned crosshair name list

+ If you wish to have a seperate xhair for the Shock and SuperShock, add this line to your User.INI:

[XWeapons.SuperShockRifle]
ExchangeFireModes=0
Priority=1
CustomCrosshair=
CustomCrosshairTextureName=
CustomCrossHairColor=
CustomCrosshairScale=

//3. Note:

More crosshairs are in the planning stages, but will not be available for beta release for some time
Any custom weapons not subclassed to current UT2004 weapons will not have a entry to add a
 custom crosshair unless the author has coded it to add an entry into the User.Ini
  Most good mods do this, but not always

P.S. To anyone who has prior versions and has noticed a name change in this readme.
 This is not a stolen xhair pack, I decided to use my real name instead of "Kel Siros"
I've used the name "Kel Siros" to maintain my anonymity in the online world(still am since I'm not giving my full first name either)
