Description
~~~~~~~~~~~
The Locust is a state of the art hovering attack board that can maintain a constant lift above the ground and climb slanted faces to a certain degree, it is the most agile and nimble vehicle of its kind and performs a devastating melee spin attack. Jump great distances and heights in style. Get yours now!
Techinical: The board works in any Onslaught or Assault map. All the custom animations also work with all of Epic's UT2004 character models. The shader texture enhances the board, while the new sounds bring it to life.
Requirements
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Unreal Tournament 2004

Installation
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Run the umod installer and point it to your UT2004 directory. The installer will install 5 files:
board.u
board.ucl
ONSBoard-A.ukx
ONSBoardSounds-S.uax
ONSBoard-SM.usx
readme.txt (this file)
Usage
~~~~~
To spawn the Locust into a game, bring up the console and type:
summon board.onsboard

To use the board, press the jump key to jump instantly, press and hold crouch to perform a higher jump, and press the alt-fire to perform a spin attack.

The best part of this vehicle is that it's fun. You can't have this much fun in the Manta, Scorpion, Raptor, or even some new vehicle like a suped up tank or dropship. The Locust is just fun to ride around on, and even more fun to frag with.

Known Issues
~~~~~~~~~~~~
- Although bots recognize the Locust as a vehicle, they are not smart users. They fly around thinking there is a gun onboard and will linger around nodes or the powercore thinking they are shooting it, when actually they are just sitting there. They also don't know how to do a super jump. Hopefully, this will be fixed in future versions.
- The Locust is currently a standalone vehicle, so the only way is to spawn it using the console (or add it to one of your maps). An Onslaught map is in the works that will use the Locust to its fullest extent.
- A regular jump has no animation yet.
- Untested, but people say you can't see the player's animations in multiplayer when other players use the board (for you and bots, it looks fine).
FIXED - When you kill someone while on the board, the console log says you did it in a Manta. Grrr.
Version Information
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1.01 (June 9, 2004): All Damage Messages now say "Locust" instead of "Manta"
1.00: This is still in beta. The board is working, but there is no primary attack yet. You can currently do a board spin attack and crouch to jump higher. Primary attack coming soon.
